New Bentley Fragrance For Men. Only £3500 !!!!!

This post is a little off topic but when I read this I actually laughed out loud. Bentley in all their wisdom have just in time for Christmas I presume launched a new fragrance for men.

If your thinking this may just be a perfect gift for the Bentley enthusiast in your family just be aware it comes with a price tag of  just £3,500.

For that, not only do you get some pretty special perfume (“selected natural vetiver extract” says Bentley) – you also get an impressive crystal Lalique in the shape of the legendary “Flying B”.

Part of the Bentley Crystal Edition, the fragrance is limited to just 499 bottles.

Bentley says its Lalique for Bentley Blue Crystal Edition is “made from the finest, primarily pure natural essences.

The top note is stimulating, with pink peppercorns and juniper berries, accompanied by a hint of fresh pear. In the heart note, Haitian and Javanese vetiver unfold their concentrated power, woody and invigorating.

Chuck in some “harmonious ambergris and musk, partnered with precious cedar wood and frankincense” and you have the ultimate sensual experience. Apparently.

John Terry spends £375,000 on two luxury cars

Having the salary of a top end football player means you can afford to splash out on a luxury car or two!

Chelsea captain John Terry has been pictured in two new gleaming luxury cars with an estimated combined price tag of £375,000.

He is still celebrating the new one-year deal he signed with the club at the end of last season, as he prepares his garage ahead of the new campaign.

Terry has been busy so far in pre-season, scoring in their 5-0 rout of Wycombe on Wednesday, before coming off the bench to score twice in their 3-2 victory over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Despite persistent rumours that he was going to be moving on, Terry signed a one-year pay-as-you-play deal with the club at the back end of last season, meaning he’ll be captaining the club for the eleventh season in a row.

And, following the departure of Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, he remains one of just three players – alongside Petr Cech and Jon Obi Mikel – to still be at Stamford Bridge from Jose Mourinho’s first stint in charge between 2004-07.

Terry and Chelsea head into this season hoping to avoid two consecutive campaigns without silverware for the first time in the Roman Abramovich era.

Stars and there cars!

Its not just about owning an expensive luxury car these days, its about modifying it to be the ultimate ride!

Can you guess which celebrity owns this leopard-print custom car? YOLO – it’s Justin Bieber, obviously!

The 20-year-old singer, who recently shared a video of Tom Hanks getting down and grooving away at a wedding, had his bodyguard test drive and then deliver the leopard print custom Audi R8 to him in Los Angeles.

The singer was later spotted cruising around Hollywood in the garish vehicle with reported new girlfriend, model Yovanna Ventura.

But Bieber’s not alone in possessing such an awfully ugly and over-priced car… Here’s a few more celebrities with questionable automobiles below:

luxury car rental business set up by North Buffalo residents

The renting of luxury cars for all occasions has ben growing in popularity over the last few years. Where once, you would only hire a luxury car for very special occasions such as your wedding day, now people are hiring them out for a weekend trip down the coast or for a first date with someone.

Maybe you’re dreading arriving at your high school reunion in a minivan with an overworked odometer or you dream of impressing a date in a flashy sports car instead of your ho-hum sedan.

Or you want to arrive in style at a wedding in something other than the typical limo.

What to do? Roll up in a Porsche, a Corvette or a muscle car like a Dodge Challenger.

A couple of Buffalo guys, Gregory Straus and Matthew Bona, have these cars for rent, and they think there is a market for people who want to escape their everyday driving experience. They launched Redline Rentals of Buffalo with that idea.

Customers have already rented the cars for a day, several days, or even weeks at a time, for everything from cool road trips to wedding anniversaries and milestone birthdays. The customers get the thrill of driving — and being seen driving — expensive cars, and then turn in the keys and go back to their everyday transportation.

Robert P. Carr, president of Carr Marketing Communications, compares the concept to signing up for baseball fantasy camps to play alongside real major leaguers for a few days. “In some ways, it’s kind of like a Walter Mitty type of dream,” Carr said. “All of a sudden, the alarm clock goes off, and you’re back to reality.”

Charis Zaczek surprised her husband, Eric, with a 24-hour Corvette rental to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. When they stopped by Redline’s North Buffalo shop, Charis figured they would just see the car and pick up a gift certificate. But Eric was eager to rent the Corvette immediately, so they did, taking it to Grand Island to see what it could do.

“We had a lot of yells: ‘Nice car, nice car!’ ” Charis said. Later, the Kenmore couple drove to the Buffalo Chophouse for dinner.

Adam Hageman usually drives a tow truck with his business, Empire Towing and Recovery. The Challenger is Hageman’s “dream car,” but he can’t afford to buy one, so he rented one from Redline for a month.

Hageman drove the car to a wedding and took a friend to Gowanda to pick up a motorcycle. He also drove it for errands.

“I was at Lowe’s with my two daughters, and someone asked me if it was mine,” he said.

Tim O’Donnell drove the Corvette with his 19-year-old son to Chicago for a Blackhawks-Kings playoff game. They could have flown, but O’Donnell preferred father-son bonding time on a road trip. The head-turning car added an extra touch, O’Donnell said.

“The Hawks won in double overtime, which was awesome,” he said

These are exactly the types of stories that Straus, 27, and Bona, 28, hoped to hear when they started Redline. The North Buffalo residents went to St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and Canisius College together. While on assignment in New York City, they learned about the luxury car rental business.

When they returned to Buffalo, Straus and Bona talked about bringing the concept here. Both are lifelong car guys with an affinity for numbers: Straus has a degree in accounting, and Bona earned a degree in accounting and finance.

But they faced an obvious question: How can a business like Redline succeed in a place like Buffalo, where wintry weather spoils the fun for months?

“My response to that is, that’s exactly why it’s going to work, because it’s a shortened season,” said Bona, the chief operating officer. “People don’t want to buy these cars, they don’t have room to store them, they don’t have the time and ability to maintain them, because the average person probably only is going to drive them 1,000 to 2,000 miles per year.”

They found a bank willing to work with them and, after a long search, lined up insurance for the business. Then the co-owners set out to build a fleet.

Straus and Bona always had a Corvette and a Porsche in their game plan.

“What we were trying to do was think about that Ferrari-Lamborghini mind set without the price tag,” said Straus, Redline’s president.

They found a 2008 midnight blue Porsche 911 in Washington, D.C., that fit their criteria: full convertible, turbo engine and automatic transmission. Straus flew to Washington and drove the car home just in time to display it at one of the charity events Redline attends to promote its service.

Bona spotted a torch-red 2011 Corvette Grand Sport on a car lot one day.

“I drove by it and said, ‘Yep, that’s the car,’ and pulled a Uie in the parking lot.”

They rounded out the fleet with a 2012 Challenger with chrome rims, a custom exhaust and a thunderous rumble.

“It’s pure black,” Straus said. “It’s really an ode to muscle cars.”

Straus and Bona spent about$150,000 for all three vehicles, assembling a fleet with different levels of rental prices. The rates vary depending on what a customer signs up for, but the Porsche rents for about$700 for 24 hours on a weekend, compared with about$500 for the Corvette and about$300 for the Challenger. (A new Porsche comparable to Redline’s rental sells for more than$100,000.)

Like any rental cars, Redline’s come with rules. Customers must be at least 25 years old and have a clean driving record and proper insurance. They can’t eat in the cars, and they have to put down a$2,500 refundable security deposit. Straus and Bona show customers how to drive the cars safely.

If a car comes back damaged — for example, a fender hanging off from ramming a steep driveway — Redline will hold the deposit until the customer’s insurance company reimburses Redline. “By telling people that, they drive it as if it was their own,” Straus said. “They’re a lot more responsible.” And so far, customers have dropped off the cars in good condition.

Can a business like this succeed in a smaller market like Buffalo? Gotham Dream Cars, which inspired Redline’s founders, operates in big markets like New York City, Miami and Los Angeles. During his research, Straus talked to Rob Ferretti, Gotham’s chief operating officer.

Ferretti said he doesn’t believe Buffalo is large enough to sustain a luxury rental car business as more than a side gig. “It’s not an easy business to make work, and the (profit) margins are far what from people expect.”

And Ferretti said it’s not just about drawing customers from a pool of wealthy people in a market. “They are people who want to pretend to be rich, effectively.”

Gotham customers will rent exotic cars and head to traffic-jammed places like Times Square. “Everybody just drives places nice and slow to be seen,” Ferretti said.

Straus and Bona say they recognize the challenges ahead. They have full-time jobs at banks — they declined to name them — and operate their business from rented space in a former collision shop. Straus believes Redline can be profitable within five years. If it doesn’t succeed, they can always sell off the cars.

By August, they expect to know how their bookings are looking into autumn. They are deciding what to do about the winter months — just put the cars in storage or add a luxury SUV that can handle the snow to the fleet.

For now, Straus and Bona are enjoying the ride. And Straus notices something when a customer’s rental time with a car is up: “They don’t want to give it back.”

“Batmobile” Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren bought by Tyga

When one celebrity buys themselves an outrageously expensive and customised luxury car, you can be sure that another will desperately want it!

In the world of the famous and rich, super expensive and stunningly fast cars have become more of the routine than the shocking moments. It’s the case of this murdered-out black Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, also nicknamed the “Batmobile” SLR, that was owned for a couple of months by Scott Disick only to be now bought by Tyga.

While normal people save-up for the every-day rides, celebrities keep switching their hundreds of dollars rides between each other and they don’t even realize it.

Reality television celebrity and businessman Scott Disick, better known as Kourtney Kardashian’s spouse, posted a couple of pictures with the black Mercedes-Benz SLR quoting he owns it, a couple of months ago. Soon after it turned out he decided to sell it and now it was just bought by rapper Tyga. Los Angeles-based Calabasas Luxury Motorcars auto shop, the place he bought it from, recently posted an image of the rapper sitting next to it.

After all, this on and off/selling and buying super expensive and luxurious cars it’s not even that rare among famous people. In fact, when you say Scott Disick you think of flamboyant class and exclusive car-collection, about the same words that pop-up when you talk about Tyga’s rides.

Well, it seems Justin Bieber’s close friend decided to buy the “Batmobile” SLR just because it’s sitting pretty in his driveway, right next to his Rolls Royce Ghost, Lambroghini Aventador, Maybach and his other Mercedes, the SLS.

Which luxury cars are best and worst for value for money?

Luxury cars typically cost a lot to buy, but they needn’t break the bank in running costs – provided you choose carefully.

You wouldn’t expect a luxury car to be cheap, but you might expect a lot of car for your money. Our best-value luxury car truly lived up to its billing with nearly all owners raving about its superb comfort levels. And while it may be a luxury model, it still scored above average for value overall in the Which? Car Survey.

The worst value luxury car, however, is within striking distance of the bottom of the survey. Owners complained about its hearty appetite for fuel and oil. A number of drivers also described it as being both uncomfortable and difficult to get into – not good attributes for a luxury machine.

Highest rated luxury car for value for money

If there’s one thing owners of the Saab 9-5 (1997-2010) all agree about, it’s just how comfortable their car is. As a result, 9-5 drivers keep coming back for more; one owner is now on their third 9-5 and another is on their 11th Saab.

Thanks to Saab owners’ satisfaction with their cars, the 9-5 chalked up a strong value-for-money score of 84.5%. A large number of owners described the 9-5 as ‘very comfortable’, with one adding: ‘for the price, nothing else gives the same amount of space, comfort or performance’.

Another Saab owner said, ‘I love the fact that I have a reliable, solid, quality car, loaded with extras, without having had to pay the steep prices associated with German makes.’ The car makes an ‘excellent long-distance car with a massive boot’ and is ‘safe, reliable, easy to drive, with excellent in-car entertainment’.

Lowest rated luxury car for value for money

Way down at the other end of the luxury car table is the Audi A5 Sportback (2009-) with a score of 67.3%. Unlike the Saab, many Audi owners criticised their car for being uncomfortable due to its firm ride. The A5 Sportback is also hard to drive smoothly, according to several drivers.

Contributing to the poor value money score, the A5 ‘uses a great deal of oil – needing approximately one litre every other month’, the ‘petrol consumption is some 10mpg worse than advertised’ and the ‘highly expensive’ built-in satnav is ‘a disaster’ and ‘doesn’t take full postcodes’.

The A5 Sportback is ‘uncomfortable on motorways and A roads’ and ‘the 19-inch wheels give a hard ride’, jeopardising its billing as a luxury car. Other owners have criticised the S-Tronic automatic gearbox for being ‘jerky’ with the ‘random jerkiness of the accelerator’ meaning that ‘you cannot “creep” forward’. ‘The brakes are occasionally very sharp, causing me and any passenger to lurch forward’.

Beyond these failings, owners also complained that ‘access is difficult for large or older people’, ‘rain water enters the boot area when opened’ and ‘it feels like a large car, so parking can sometimes be a challenge’.

Luxury cars are looking to overtake pickups in the American market

Buyers in America are more likely to purchase luxury cars over other more traditional brands of choice. Drivers are clamouring for BMWs , Audis, and Infinitis this year, buying plush vehicles at a far faster pace than other cars or even the traditional favourite Ford F-150.

In the first five months of the year, luxury automakers sold almost 66,000 more vehicles in the U.S. than they did a year earlier, an 11 percent increase. Lincoln and Lexus in particular were stomping on the sales pedal. Sales of midsize cars such as the Honda Accord—the biggest segment of the U.S. market—slipped 3.6 percent, while truck sales—another huge chunk of the market—were up 4.6 percent.

Why are so many U.S. buyers springing for an opulent car? A relatively robust stock market helps, as does an improving overall economy. But there’s something far more interesting going on. A lot of Americans aren’t really buying new BMWs and Benzes after all; they’re renting them—or leasing, to be specific.

Leasing now accounts for a bigger share of auto sales than ever, according to Bloomberg Industries analyst Kevin Tynan. Consumers are feeling fairly flush but are still spooked about taking on large amounts of debt, Tynan says. What’s more, resale values are up, so companies are offering better leasing terms, confident that the vehicle will still be worth a tidy sum when the agreement runs its course.

Luxury drivers are more likely to lease than those to choose less pricey vehicles. About half of the Mercedes  sedans rolling off of lots these days are leased, compared with 13 percent of big trucks like the Chevy  Silverado.

For those who want to buy, it’s gotten easier to be a luxury car owner. Mercedes is now selling its CLA for about $30,000. (It doesn’t have the company’s famed rear-wheel drive, but it does have the logo on the hood.) Audi is making a similar play with its new A3, and BMW is shifting down-market as well with its 2 Series. Not surprisingly, aggregate sticker prices for the luxury segment aren’t nearly as high as they were last year.

So the car-buying process now includes a socioeconomic strategy question. Namely, is a starter Mercedes or a run-of-the-mill Lincoln more luxurious than a Mazda  or a Ford Fusion with all the extras? That’s for drivers (and their neighbours) to decide.

Rodriguez poses on Mercedes-Benz

We like pictures of fast cars, and we like a gossip story about a celebrity. Here we have both! Michelle Rodriguez’s latest Instagram pic looks like a still shot out of her Fast & Furious movies.

The 35-year-old actress posed with a rifle tucked under her left arm while she kissed the muzzle of a handgun in her right hand. “Ready for the chaos boulevard of broken dreams… Monopoly where’s the suicide door @alecmonopoly,” she captioned the pic. Alec Monopoly is a New York City graffiti artist that uses the Monopoly man in many of his works.

Michelle used a sepia-toned filter for the photo where she’s dressed in khaki cargo pants, black work boots, a white snow helmet, black leather jacket and sunglasses. She sat on the hood of a black Mercedes-Benz convertible.

The star of movies like Avatar and S.W.A.T. is currently filming the seventh installment of Fast & Furious. The cast lost its lead Paul Walker in a fiery crash last November.

Michelle broke up with her supermodel girlfriend Cara Delevingne in May. The couple, with a 14-year age gap, was first spotted kissing at a basketball game in February.

She confirmed her relationship with Cara and gushed about her new girlfriend at the time.

“It’s going really well. She’s so cool. When we started hanging out I just thought she was awesome, and we have the best time together,” Michelle told The Mirror.

“She’s hard though. You wouldn’t want to mess with her in a fight.”

With Michelle’s new toys, Cara might not want to mess with her ex.

Goodwood Festival of Speed McLaren debut

The annual Goodwood Festival of Speed starts on Thursday this week and we are hearing lots of rumours about what is going to debut and be seen by the massive festival crowd.

McLaren has announced a global premiere for the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed and has released this teaser image to whet our appetite. The global premiere will be a new track-focused version of one of McLaren’s supercars, developed by the automaker’s McLaren GT motorsport offshoot.

Rather than the highly-anticipated P1 GTR that was recently confirmed by McLaren, the global premiere is more likely to be a new 650S-based race car to replace the 12C GT3 or possibly a track-focused version of the 650S similar to the previous 12C GT Sprint. If you look carefully at the teaser, the design of the side intakes is more like the one on the 650S than on the P1.

The new car will be revealed on June 27 at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where McLaren Formula One driver Jenson Button will drive it up the event’s famous hill climb.

McLaren will also have its full collection of cars on show as well as some race cars from its past, including an M7C F1 race car driven by McLaren founder Bruce McLaren. In addition to this, there will be a 650S unveiled that has been worked over by the men and women at the McLaren Special Operations personalization department.

This year’s festival is once again taking place on the grounds of Goodwood House in the UK, and runs from June 26-29.

Gran Turismo in real-life

Is your luxury car ownership confined to the walls of a video game? If you like Gran Turismo and have always wanted to own the car in real-life, now could be your chance.

Volkswagen’s new concept GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo is meant to blur the line between “virtual and real worlds,” having originally been created for the Sony Playstation 3 Gran Turismo 6 video game.

The Golf GTI automobile is a two-seat convertible with a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine that gives 503hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, propelling the luxury car 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds to a top track speed of 192mph.

Sony asked the car brand to create a real version of the virtual GTI to mark the Gran Turismo’s 15th anniversary. An in-house competition was launched, asking young Volkswagen designers to submit designs to be judged by Klaus Bischoff (Head of Design) and Kazunori Yamauchi (Director of Polyphony Digital and Vice-President of Sony Computer Entertainment and the inventor of the Gran Turismo series).

“The Vision GT project offered a wonderful opportunity to sketch out extreme ideas and design elements of the GTI that are portrayed as vibrantly, dynamically and emotionally as possible,” says Bischoff. “Further development of an unmistakable design and a love for detail reflect the high standards shared by the Volkswagen GTI and the Gran Turismo by Sony PlayStation product brands.”
